Asha Ratna Dangol

born 1972, Kathmandu
B.A. Fine Arts Campus, Kathmandu
Asha Dangol's new work is focused on Mithila art, the traditional art of the Terai people of Nepal. He is occupied with misery, mystery and abstract forms and uses deep black to deep blues, re-interpreting the old folk images and cultural traditions and making them fresh and contemporary. His color tones and figures reflect the simplicity of the naive forms found in Mithila Art.
"I project my semi abstract visions through dark-hued colors and through compact, figurative subdued compositions of nature and society", so the artist about his own work.
